I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty disappointed with CrossFit for making the rower the first exercise of this workout. The CrossFit Open is supposed to be ALL INCLUSIVE and allow everyone to participate in every workout…even if it’s only for a few reps. Between this and starting the entire Open season with Double Unders as the FIRST exercise, I feel like there are going to be alot of “regular” CrossFitters out there who feel duped for being told to sign up and hand over the $20 entrance fee only to not be able to participate in at least 2 of the workouts AT ALL. Seems pretty lame. What about the “dark horses,” the unknown CrossFitter training in his or her garage that comes out of nowhere at Regionals and starts crushing WODs? I guess now every solo-training CrossFitter is expected to drop $1000 on a Concept 2 rower (something that I have personally done, but it took me 7 years to finally make the investment) in order to be able to compete at the next higher level. Anyways, that’s enough of my rant…let’s get back to training!
